Dollar Signs on Everyone’s Mind

A recent Gallup Poll confirms that Americans are still worried about stretching every dollar.

When asked to name the most important financial problems facing their families today, one in six of our fellow citizens said low wages and a lack of money was at the top.

Healthcare costs, perhaps attributed to the prominence in the news, were second, according to Gallup.

The survey also ranked too much debt third, followed by the cost of rent or owning a home, unemployment and college costs.

In addition, Gallup reported that in recent weekly updates on Americans’ spending habits, it has commonly noticed that spending increases around customary paydays (the 1st and 15th of each month) and declines more in other weeks as consumers continue to scale back.
